The Komodo and Alor areas of Indonesia are very remote and there are no hospitals in the area that can deal with a diving emergency requiring recompression. The nearest chambers are on Bali, at the general hospital in Denpasar with another on the island of Lombok in the capital Mataram; to reach either of them would require the use of private emergency air evacuation, which is very expensive.

With this in mind it is recommended that divers purchase dive specific insurance, such as DAN, before starting a Komodo or Alor trip with us on the Komodo Dancer.
