General information

Indonesia lies close to the equator between the continent of Australia and South East Asia. The nation comprises 17,000 islands, large and small, and a lot of sea - the locals call their country "air tanah kita" - our land of sea and water. The region the Komodo Dancer cruises is in the middle of the archipelago and around 8 degrees south of the equator. The climate is generally warm and sunny but is affected by two different monsoons. The SE monsoon is present from April to November bringing dry clear and cooler weather whereas the SW monsoon occurs between November and March with hotter and wetter conditions.
